Important Note About the Textbook

The main text for this course is Interactive Linear Algebra (1553 version) by Dan Margalit and Joe Rabinoff.

The optional textbook for the course is Linear Algebra and its Applications by Lay-Lay-McDonald. You may already have purchased access to it if you have previously taken a Calculus course at Georgia Tech. You may want to purchase access to Lay-Lay-McDonald if:

  1. you want an extra reference for the material,
  2. you want extra practice exercises,
  3. you want access to the online exercises in MyMathLab, a proprietary tool for online homework for other GT courses, or
  4. you are going to take calculus at GaTech (it is cheaper to buy the bundle than any individual parts).

To be clear, I will not be using or discussing Lay-Lay-McDonald, or assigning any problems from it, this semester. That said, you may find the extra practice problems and other materials in Lay's book helpful.

Instructions for obtaining a Pearson code and logging into MyMathLab can be found here.
